Perth 2009, Days Four and Five: Dinners and Catching Up
Yay, more updates on my Perth holiday! Okay, so it's not a sight-seeing holiday and so there ain't much in the way of picturesque photos... I've spent most of my time reading, sometimes at home, sometimes at the nearby Dome coffee shop (what a surprise, Nick in a coffee shop!)... but no laptop means not much internet time, which is quite freeing, actually!! And you know life has gotten just a little bit more hectic when the simple act of sitting around smelling and sipping coffee and listening to the soft jazz from the nearby speakers makes you feel like you're having a real good relaxing holiday! Arf!
Anyway, yesterday (or Tuesday, rather), Judi, Justin and I headed to Chris, Jade and little Arielle's house for a lovely dinner. Then today (Wednesday), I hopped on a bus to Murdoch Uni, taking a nice walk from the Winthrop shops down Prescott Drive to the university. Now, I used to walk up and down Prescott when we were living in Pine Grove, to church and to the shops and to uni and back. All I can say is, you know you're no longer as fit when the journey that once was so easily walkable now seems so tedious, the road interminable, your breath too short. Oy vey!! Never mind, I'll get back on track soon enough, I'm sure!!
So I got to uni and managed to catch up with Jenny and Andrew K, where we discussed Children's Theatre, its progress and process this year, and potential plans for the future. More on this as and when, but we're really excited about the prospects 2010 might bring in terms of my involvement with the production. Whoohoo, bring it on!! I also got to convey my regards to former lecturers Serge T and David M, and left messages for Chris S. Just names to you guys, I know, but I wanna write these down for memory's sake, ok?! Heh!!
Right after, I hopped on a bus back to Applecross, where I met with my dear friend Alisha RT over green tea at Dome. Then I came back to the house, and Judi, Justin and I headed to Justin's folks' place for another lovely meal. At Chris and Jade's, Judi had made this scrumptious crumb-breaded chicken dish. Tonight, it was tuna patties. And there was dessert of stewed apples, with (dramatic pause!) cloves. CLOVES. Mindblowing. Very easy to make. Very much in line with the eating plan. Very yummy. All in all, a very pleasant couple of days! ;)
Anyway, to sign off, here are some pics. Unfotunately I forgot to take photos of my meetings with the uni folks and Alisha, but at least there are some of yesterday's and tonight's dinners. Click on the pics for bigger views, naturally!!! I leave you with 'em... till next time!
