Some Words Are Too Hard To Spell (Plus Photoblog!)
Hello all! Tonite's post will be quite random, talking about
First off: yesterday was fun. Well, not really. Had music rehearsals till about 5pm, and then headed over to my dear friend Jess (hiiii Jesssss!!)'s 21st birthday barbeque at her place... Didn't hang around for too long because the weather was bad and i didn't know anyone there, so... *ah well*. Still, hopefully Jess had a good birthday!! :) On the way home, it suddenly began to storm: the wind blew in huge gusts, dead leaves danced hysterically all about the street, the windows whistled where air was rushing through the gaps, and it was all very freaky. Got back home to find that there was a blackout, and so Carol, Judi and I invited ourselves over to Justin's house. Justin has two boxer puppies! Yaaay! Sooo cute! Those of you who know me well would know that I'm a big doggie person -- and man, just seeing those two little pups (Tara and Tia Maria. Don't ask) ... well, it certainly brightened up my evening (except when one of 'em did a poo-poo in the corner. Poor Justin had an early preparation for fatherhood...except you don't clean up a baby with a pooper scooper. Anyway...) ... We hung around there will about 9pm and headed home again, by which time the lights had come back on, and so naturally we all headed to bed to get some sleep. hahahahahah! I've used that joke before. Sue me. Creativity is severely overrated, in the same way that good music is.
Friday I spent most of the day rehearsing with the musicians for the overly-stated Captain Quokka. Today I did the same, except with the singers, as we're planning on (hush hush now!) producing a secret CD to surprise the cast and crew. Except that now I've mentioned it, it won't be much of a surprise anymore, will it? Heh. Oh well. Blabbermouth. Ehhh.
Just to go back to last Saturday (one week from yesterday) when we had our little steamboat dinner... allow me to post some photos from that entertaining evening. You'll find 'em at the end of this post, when your bandwidth is being consumed unnecessarily by the arduous task of large pictures being downloaded. I've just seen an episode of a TV show i really like, and in it one of the characters is sitting in a park, on a bench, in the lovely morning sun, typing on his laptop in his bid to become a writer...and I've realised: that's what I need to do! Get out there more, get out of the house, get into the sun, and yet work on the stuff I need to work on! As you guys might know, I love to write... a laptop would be perfect! I can only imagine sitting under a tree, working on a good story, in a pleasant public place where I would feel less of the "cabin fever" that comes from being at home all the time.... lurrrvely thought! So yes, a laptop might be the way to go. I'd probably get a Mac. hmmm. My cousin Shaun could help me out there. He's a Mac freak. Or an Apple ... umm... damn, couldn't come up with a good fruity pun. Oh well. Life.
Well, I'll leave you with the photos now. And just one last final thought for those who care to be spoiled by this little tv-show-related detail... fans of the show in question will understand what I'm talking about... here goes: STANLEY WALKER IS ALIVE!!! .... you gotta love the shocks and twists of season finales. Heh! byebye for now!
The cast of Pine Grove's Steamboat Night II: The Horror Continues In Pots of Bubbling Water.
Josie, Mark (centre) and Carol. :P
Phwooaaah! Crikey, mate, wot a stench!
And the feasting begins. Watch out, tourists... if you startle them, they might charge.
All right, this is the process: i) Nick does something stupid...
ii) Josie starts laughing...
iii) Josie's dam of restraint starts cracking and giving way...
iv) Whoops! The dam crumbles further, and it's all on the cusp of gushing forth in one huge wave of utmost, uncontrollable hilarity...
v) Exhibit A.
Oh, it's a fun time had by all. Here's to the next Steamboat Night!!
