Hot-Pot Rusty Music!
Hiya. Back to busyness lately! Music rehearsals for Captain Quokka are in full gear; Monday afternoon my mate Jules came over and we spent time going over the guitar part for the show. Tonite (Tuesday nite) Jules and I drove up to Darch (one of those rather isolated northern suburbs) for a rehearsal at a music room in Kingsway Christian College with Brendan and Paula, who're playing drums and flute respectively. Tomorrow morning we'll be rehearsing further, and we've got Alisha who plays the clarinet joining us. So yes, it's gonna be a fun band: drums, keys, clarinet, guitar and flute. Still not too late to come for the show, hahaah! Let me know! ;)
Meanwhile, on Sunday we had the much-mentioned steamboat dinner with my housemates Carol and Judi, Carol's boyfriend Mark, Chris and Jade, and the ever-effervescent Josie, who we never fail to crack up till the point of tears and dementia each time we have her over for dinner. It was a good nite; we had the usual hot-pot with the meats and stuff in it; we chucked in noodles, eggs, veggies, the lot. Great stuff. And for afters, we had ice-cream and a delicious banana dessert Carol made. All that, mixed with heaps and heaps of white and red wine, led to a good nite (that was kinda abruptly cut off when the booze kicked in and made me all headachy, hahahahahaa!). Those of you who haven't tried a steamboat dinner before, go make yourself an Asian friend and check it out. HaHAHAAHAHA. Sorry. *hehehe*! Anyways, when I get photos in (hint hint hint, CarolandMark!) ;))) I'll put some up!
Judi got her car on Sunday. It's a Mazda 323, 80s, and it's red and rusty. That's not a criticism, it's a fact. In fact, Judi has lovingly christened it Rusty. You should see it: small and run-down, bright red, judders as it moves and shudders as it dies, but it travels. It goes. In fact, it apparently picks up speed a lot better than my Jessicar does (yes, I named my car Jessicar. Don't ask. It began as a joke, but it eventually...oh never mind. Anyway.) ... so yeah, Judi's mobile, I'm mobile, and all is right with the world. Thus far. :) Okay, that's about all for now... until next time, ciao bella! xxxox
