Back in Perth - And Other Rambling Ramblings
Hey all! I'm back in Perth at last - actually, I got back on Thursday, the 17th, but haven't had the chance to write till now. The flight wasn't too bad, apart from the fact that I was all drowsy and sicky with the flu on the way over. Still, it wasn't as turbulent as usual, thank God, which meant that I spent less time clutching the armrests in a state of neurotic nervousness. However, this also meant I spent less time praying than I normally would on a flight over. I'm such a bad flyer, I swear. One time this dude turned to me and said, "Hey, mate, just chill, will ya?" cos I was sweating so hard as the plane shook. Another time the turbulance was so bad that the plane plummetted several feet, causing many to shriek in shock and causing the lights to flicker - so maybe my apprehension isn't unfounded, after all.
Sat next to this girl Cindy on the plane, who was rather garrulous and I suppose that was good, because she managed to distract me from the phobia. We were both pretty outgoing and outspoken, which meant we were in good company with each other. Before going separate ways, we swapped numbers; she's studying in Curtin (and she's also from Malaysia). Heh. At the airport, my housemate Judi was meant to pick me up (she got her licence over the holidays and now makes use of my car all the time, God help us, hehehehehe), but she couldn't make it, so I was greeted by my other mate Justin and his mom instead. Very nice of 'em; they're always good company too. Justin was just here for dinner of tuna lasagna. Yummy. Anyway. I digress. When I got home, the house, which, if you might remember, we spent heaps of time cleaning up and redecorating last year, was in a shambles. Today I did a thorough clean-up, so it's back to being nice and clean and comfy and cosy again! Whoohoo! Yes, I was that bored. Sue me. :P
Well, the semester starts Monday, and looks like it's gonna be a busy one. New year, new semester, new start, so another new look for this blog - well, it's mainly a colour change, hahahaah. I just hope I get over this flu (and just got a tummy bug, yerk!) soon. Fingers crossed.
Before I leave for now, here's a picture of The Ongs, whom I visit (and who visited me) during the Chinese New Year hols (see previous posts). I promised a pic (when I could be bothered, I said - hehe), so here it is. And below, a photo of my grandfather's cute dog Wong. Yes, it's an Asian dog. Funny story: the dog followed my dad home, and my granddad fell in love with it. When Grandpa asked for suggestions of the dog's name, my dad said, "Call it Wong!" as a joke - and then the dog tossed back its head and bayed, "ahwooooooooooonnnnggggg", so the name became official.
Kevin, Irinna and little baby Dylan Ong.
Wong! And last, but not least, in the spirit of egocentricity which frequently pops up on my blog, a (deliberately small) photo of me, taken today!

Oh, the wonder of digital cameras and mirrors (and shower curtains). Bye for now! Feel free to leave a comment or sign the doodle-board! :)
